Who we are

Deal Radar is a software product operated by Sentient Data in California. If you have a question about anything on this page, write to[email protected]. A person reads that address.

The short version

• We collect what we need to run your account: who you are, what you subscribed to, and how you used the product.
• Card details never touch our servers. Stripe handles payment.
• The records the product displays are public records published by government agencies. We did not buy them from a data broker and we do not enrich them with consumer profiles.
• We never contact homeowners or consumers on your behalf. Nothing is ever sent in your name.
• We do not sell or share your personal information, and we do not run advertising trackers on this site by default.

What we collect about you, the customer

Account data

Your name, email address, the name of your workspace or company, and the trade and service radius you set. Sign-in is handled by our authentication provider, which stores your credentials. We never see or store your password.

Billing data

Your subscription tier, its status, the markets on your account, and the billing history our payment processor reports back to us. We do not receive or store your card number, expiry, or security code. Those go directly from your browser to Stripe, which is the merchant of record for the payment and holds the card on file.

Usage data

Which signals you opened, which you dismissed, the alerts we queued and sent to you, and ordinary server logs (IP address, browser user agent, timestamps, the URL requested). Logs exist so we can keep the service up and investigate abuse.

What you send us

If you fill in a form on this site or email us, we keep what you wrote and your contact details so we can reply.

What we do not collect

• We do not collect data about your customers. If you paste something into a note, that is yours and we do not use it to build a profile of anyone.
• We do not buy consumer marketing lists.
• We do not track you across other websites, and there is no advertising pixel on this site by default.

Cookies and browser storage

This marketing site sets no cookies of its own. If the operator enables a visitor counter it is a cookieless one: it records the page and the referring site, not an identifier for you.

The application at app.dealradar.dev uses a session cookie and browser local storage. Those are strictly necessary: they keep you signed in and remember your workspace preferences. Clearing them signs you out.

The public records the product displays

Deal Radar monitors records that public agencies publish: building permit applications and issuances, planning and entitlement filings, CEQA environmental notices, affordable-housing award lists, liquor licence activity, and the California State Licensing Board contractor licence registry. We collect those from official sources, identify our monitoring by user agent, and respect published rate limits.

Those records may contain the name of a licensed contractor, a business address, a parcel address, and the description and declared value of the work. They are public because state and local law requires them to be public. We store what the agency published, dated and deduplicated, and we do not add data about individuals from any other source.

If a record about you or your business appears in the product and you believe it is wrong, write to [email protected]. Where the error is ours we will correct it. Where the underlying agency record is wrong, the correction has to be made with that agency, and we will tell you which one published it.

This is not a consumer report

Deal Radar is not a consumer reporting agency, and nothing in the product is a consumer report as defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act. The data is business and property information from public records, assembled for finding construction work.

You may not use Deal Radar, or anything you get from it, to decide whether to give someone credit, to hire, promote or fire anyone, to underwrite or price insurance, or to screen a tenant. Those uses are prohibited by our terms. If that is what you need, use a consumer reporting agency that is regulated for it.

Who else touches the data

We use a small number of service providers, each doing one job and each bound by its own contract. Named by function rather than by brand, because vendors change:

• Payment processing. Takes the card, runs the subscription, holds the billing record.
• Authentication. Stores your sign-in credentials and verifies who you are.
• Email delivery. Sends the alert emails and account notices addressed to you.
• Cloud hosting and storage. Runs the application and the database.
• Error monitoring. Records application errors so we can fix them.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We will disclose data if the law requires it, and we will tell you unless we are legally barred from doing so.

Where the data lives

The application and its database run on cloud infrastructure in the United States. If you use Deal Radar from outside the United States, your data is processed there.

How long we keep it

• Account and billing data: for as long as your account is open, and afterwards for as long as tax and accounting law requires us to keep the record of the sale.
• Usage data and server logs: up to 12 months.
• Public records: kept as part of the dataset. They are not personal data about you, and they are not deleted when an account closes.
• Messages you sent us: up to 24 months, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.

When you cancel, we keep your workspace for 30 days so you can come back, then delete the account data. Ask us and we will delete it immediately.

Security

Traffic is encrypted in transit. Access to production data is limited to the people who operate the service. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. If we learn of a breach affecting your data we will tell you promptly and tell you what we know.

Your rights in California

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act gives you the right to:

• know what personal information we have collected about you, where it came from, why we collected it, and who we disclosed it to;
• get a copy of it;
• correct information that is inaccurate;
• delete it, subject to the records we are required to keep;
• limit the use of sensitive personal information (we do not collect any);
• opt out of sale or sharing (we do not sell or share, so there is nothing to opt out of);
• not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.

To exercise any of them, email [email protected] from the address on your account, or tell us enough for us to find your account safely. We answer within 45 days. You can use an authorised agent; we will ask for proof that you authorised them.

If you are outside California and your local law gives you similar rights, ask us anyway. We would rather answer than argue about jurisdiction.

Children

Deal Radar is a tool for businesses. It is not for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and for a change that matters we will email account holders. Continuing to use the product after a change means you accept the updated policy.
